GZT was started by four young women who are all second-generation migrants, and were frustrated with the lack of access and diverse representation in mainstream British media. What started as an idea in a uni bedroom, has become a platform for young writers from all around the world to have their voices heard, regardless of whether they have journalistic qualifications, training or experience.

In a society that celebrates freedom of expression, it is crucial that we have independent media outlets that amplify the voices of those who are underrepresented in traditional legacy media. GZT offers a range of perspectives in a media landscape that vastly lacks diversity. To continue to empower young writers, we need your support.
